A 32-year-old man has been cited for reckless driving following an accident near Blakeman Propane on Route 14-16 yesterday around 7 a.m., according to CCSO Corporal James Innes. The man had been parked in a parking lot on Hackathorn Lane in a Ford F-250 when he lost control of the vehicle and crashed through a field, three fences and a fence at Blakeman Propane. Fire, May 13, Warlow Dr, GPD / Campbell County Fire Department (CCFD)

Officers assisted the CCFD with reports of a burning vehicle yesterday at around 6:20 p.m., Wasson said. A 44-year-old woman was traveling in the Warlow Drive and Commercial Drive area when the cabin of her vehicle, a 1986 Ford, filled with smoke. The engine compartment of the vehicle was fully involved in the flames and the fire had started to spread in the cabin by the time emergency personnel arrived at the scene, according to the CCFD, which adds that the firefighters were able to contain the fire in the engine compartment. but the cabin was damaged by heat and smoke. The incident is under investigation.

Interference, May 13, Boxelder Rd, GPD

Officers are currently looking for a 19-year-old man who fled a traffic stop on East Boxelder Road last night around 10:30 p.m., Wasson said. The vehicle, a 2004 Hyundai, had been stopped due to inoperable license plate lighting. During the stop, a CCSO K9 assistant performed a “free air sniff” around the exterior of the vehicle and reported the presence of a controlled substance. The 19-year-old fled on foot after being removed from the vehicle along with a 20-year-old female driver and a 15-year-old female passenger. As of May 14, he has not been located, but an interference charge is pending, according to Wasson. Nothing of probative value was found in the vehicle and officers cited the woman for invalid registration and returned the 15-year-old to his parents.
